A life without death

Most of our needs and activities originate from the avoidance of death. Without death there would be no need to sleep, no reason to work, no need food and security, no need to develop technologies. We would not require being creative or having relationships. Communication would not be necessary. There would be no songs, languages, no religions and no stories. In the world without death, there would be no need to reproduce. Passing our life to the next generation creates some of the most meaningful activities and relationships. All the experiences considered most meaningful and precious would not exist. There would be no graduations, weddings, family feuds or bar mitzvahs. We would not require any of them without death.  It would not be necessary to have all the drama we create with many experiences. Family relationships and rituals could never evolve, and there would be no generations of parents, children and grandparents.

Without death, we would not live but only exist. Hate and evil could be optional. A life without them would be much better. We would have the existence such as that of a rock.  Paradoxically, death drives life. Our avoidance of death gives meaning to life and fuels our creativity. Ironically, the fear of death often leads to the hatred of life. War would not exist as people fight because they are afraid of death or to prevent themselves from being killed.  I believe death often makes us notice how unhappy our lives are. Pain and suffering are a necessary part of life as it signals that should be done.   For example, a person who faces a chronic illness may appreciate and love life more compared to a person who has not had the experience. Thus, death makes life more precious.
