Negative and positive description

The negative and positive description exercise helped me realize that it is possible to manipulate words and create two different pictures of a single place. The ability to get the descriptions requires an individual to engage in a careful selection of words for the descriptive assignments. I also realized that we observe situations and events every day; however, the mode of description differs across different people based on the use of words and the perception of the environment. The writing exercise can help writers to sharpen their writing skills. For instance, the emphasis on showing rather than telling enables a writer to adopt writing strategies that engage readers. The ability to engage a reader in the writing process allows the readers to pick the different emotions and reacts highlighted in the story.

The writing exercise also helps a writer to sharpen his writing skills through the integration of the writer’s toolbox. The toolbox allows writers to use selective words for the writing exercise. For instance, the writers’ toolbox encourages readers to integrate the five senses when writing. The integration of the five senses allows the readers to feel, smell, touch, taste and sees different scenarios as presented in the descriptive paper. I have realized that the writer’s toolbox can guide a writer in a writing exercise. For instance, writers experiencing a mental block can use the writer’s box as guide on the writing styles as well as the content that they can use in their writing exercise. The use of descriptive words helps a writer to engage readers rather than narrate a story. Additionally, the use of styles such as personification enables a writer to integrate a level of creativity that is captivating to read.

Both sectors regard the health system in the US as being of high quality though everything comes with its advantages and disadvantages. Australia on the other hand also has the provision of health care services via a partnership between the federal, territory governments and the state. It currently enjoys a high-level health status. Norm Violation

The norm I choose to violate in my norm violation assignment is eating with my mouth wide open and producing sounds as I chew. Eating with your mouth open and producing sound is considered deviant behavior I decided to break this norm in one of the restaurants in Minnesota. After the church service, I went to the restaurant with some of my friends from the church youth group for a meal ensuring that I did not inform them of my assignment. Ensuring that I was the only person knowing about the assignment was the best way to receive the most genuine reaction from my friends. The moment I arrived the restaurant I immediately notice a number of social norms being followed by every customer at the restaurant. They were all well groomed, eating appropriately. Everyone eating at the restaurant had a napkin on their lap and ate using silverware. The moment we walked the restaurant we had already broken some minor folkways since we were all dressed like college students. The impressio...
