Glucose is a simple sugar that enters the pathway where the chemical energy of its bonds is converted to ATP, which is the major energy molecule in the body. Glucuronolactone is a simple saccharide which exists as a metabolic byproduct of glucose. It regulates the formation of glycogen, which acts as a form of energy storage. Sucrose is a simple sugar that is converted into a form of entry into metabolic pathway where its chemical energy is converted into ATP.

            Some ingredients contribute to body repairs such as cyanocobalamin, which is important for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, and protein synthesis. However, the ingredient is not found in the Red Bull energy drink. Some of the ingredients such as caffeine do not have a metabolic energy source but may provide the perception of energy since it has been shown to improve endurance and cycling in athletes as if it boosts energy. It is essential to know the ingredients in the drinks especially to people who expend a lot of energy, for them to be sure that the drinks benefit them as expected.
