Action
I took
the initiative of meeting human resource officer who introduced me to other
organizational staffs. Among the special professionals introduced included
Chief Information Officer (CIO), research and development teams, head of the
programming department, and the systems analysts. The various platforms that
were introduced during the session included familiarizing with operation
managers. Mr. Billy guided me through understanding the communication channels
applied in the structure of the organization. I understood how commands could
be disseminated from one area to another. The responsibilities and duties
assigned in the session formed my various responsibilities within IT research
and innovation department. Among services assigned included translating android
application storyboards and uses cases into android functional applications.
Ensure effective and efficient designing, building, and maintaining efficient,
reusable, as well as reliable Java code relied on the ethical and good IT
practices applied in the development process (Michael H. G. personal
communication July 02, 2017).
I was
given responsibility for ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and
responsiveness of the applications. Make sure I can locate and identify
bottlenecks and bugs, and obtain solutions to these problems (Billy H. F.
personal communication July 03, 2017). The final responsibility involved
Helping to maintain code quality, organization, and automating systems in the
organization. Finally, I was trained on essential functions for promoting
handling, management repairs. Through assistance from various stakeholders, I
was informed on activities. The practical activities involved in the session
include learning troubleshooting and maintenance activities (Billy H. F.
personal communication July 05, 2017). I
was trained on how to implement backing up while doing sensitive e project,
upgrading the system, and installation of basic software like antivirus.
Observation
The
observations made through the orientation process have acquired new
understanding about developments and growth of different departments within the
organization. The structure of the organization was perfect and clear leading
to the establishment of communication channels. Through introduction, I have
understood roles, responsibilities as well as policies governing the
organization. The ethical issues and principles were highly promoted to
guarantee positive results among organizational clients. I observed that the
organization structure was based on the hierarchical model of governing with
most of the key operators and stakeholders taking the specific role. Through
standards outlined by organization quality and acceptable systems can be
produced. The organization follows quality assurance techniques in making the
entire. I observed that the company deals with the production of a software
system that can be adopted in automating classroom operations. The company is
equipped with experts; in areas such programming who ensures that software
applications produced adhere to customer demands (Billy H. F. personal
communication July 06, 2017).
Through
being assigned specific duties, my responsibilities, accountabilities, as well
as being loyal to the organization were some of the techniques applied by
organization management in determining.
The training procedures applied to instill best quality standards were
among the chore techniques that organization applies to ensure their workers
practice best IT operations regarding their area of practice (Michael H. G.
personal communication July 08, 2017). I observed that the basic qualifications
required for the organization included having skills for troubleshooting,
diagnosing and repairing computer system. Upgrading and installing the computer
software such as antivirus was one of the major steps in maintaining the
organization computer assets (Michael H. G. personal communication July 09,
2017).
Reflection
Through
the intervention of Mr. Michael and Mr. Billy, I accomplished all activities in
time. Introduction to the structure of organization went well. No difficulties or complications were noticed
during the orientation process. However, the initial meeting with facilitators
of the entire process was demanding and involving in terms buying time, being,
patient and calm since duties and their services were overwhelming them. The
communication skills as well as understanding the channels of communication were
among the challenges discovered. However, through the assistance of Mr. Michael
and Mr. Billy, every operation went as planned and successful as well. Working
within the research and innovation department was one of the best opportunity
in enjoying new trends and values needed to develop programs and applications.
Duties provided guaranteed new ways of understanding the tasks and requirement
in the software development field.
Training
involving international standards went well. I acquired best ethical practices
in development and designing android systems. Among required ethical practices
included maintaining privacy and confidentiality. It also included other
security-based operation with keen observations on how they can be incorporated
in daily coding (Billy H. F. personal communication July 06, 2017). I
understood many rules and regulations formulated within organization leading to
implementation and acquisition of general strategies of work. According to
rules and regulations, every worker was responsible for every action performed
and ethical measures were polished to ensure non-compliance with the
organization policy could lead to termination of the contract as a researcher
(Billy H. F. personal communication July 06, 2017). The next procedure was to
accomplish the next iterations in analyzing requirements and business
needs.
